Enterprise UX: Designing for the Expert User
Designing for expert users is fundamentally different from designing for consumers.
When your audience consists of specialists working in complex, regulated, or highly technical environments, simplicity alone is not enough—and standard UX assumptions often fall short.
We’ll talk about:
- Where we struggled when entering complex professional domains
- What changed when we shifted our mindset from “simplifying” to “understanding”
- How we structure collaboration with domain experts to design tools they actually trust and use
And we will show real-world examples from enterprise and public-sector projects — including the trade-offs, tensions, and turning points.
Enterprise UX is not about making things look simple.
It’s about making complex systems usable.
